I love when my book comes around.
I love when my book comes around in TrineDay's marketing cycle. I can't believe it came out 2 years ago.
I cultivated it, incubated it, worked on it for years. Up early working on it. Stayed up late working on it. For years. Combing through every sentence, adding to it, as I read and watched and listened to, and read and watched and listened to, resources and interviews and books and articles and documentaries and, most often, President Kennedy's press conferences, over and over and over and over again. Over and over and over and over again.
Then the miracle. Kris Millegan at TrineDay said he'd publish it. But not for a year. So, I wrote a new chapter, called "Covid-19," because that was 2020.
Then a sprint to the finish (the necessities of the publishing process) and out it came in the Spring of 2021.
And now we're in such a blender, such cascading, swirling events, as walls seem to close in, and we seem to move closer to - what? Collapses that hurt us all? Or personal inventory-taking? The commitment to love each other and the truth no matter how many people seem lost, lonely, angry and scared?
Is the universe our friend when we befriend it? When we ponder the immortality of the soul and practice gratitude and appreciation and reverence and awe? When an act of kindness, when being a friend to ourself first, is its own reward?
Is the universe your friend? Do you make it - everyone and everything - feel safe, as a friend? As problems arise and we try to solve them, do we remember that we're friends?
I decided to write a book about the idea that energy is the intention to exist. It - we - everything - is here because we wanted to be. And our thoughts become things because they, like everything, are made of energy, the intention and ability to exist. And we can create whatever we want.
We're always doing everything to our self, the intention and ability to exist. That's all we are and that's all we do because that's all there is. The intention and ability to exist - eternal; loving; conscious; kind - entertaining itself by appearing to itself to be "others" ... others who have thoughts and feelings of their own.
But when we connect, we enter dream time. We know, we feel, we love that we are one.
That is the truth that sets us free, from worrying and competing. That is the truth that mystics and poets and nature herself try to help us feel, experience and understand. That is the truth that loving elders try to communicate to the young. All nature helps. All animals help. All consciousness helps, because consciousness is all there is.
Plenty of this kind of thing in my book. Sometimes I wish I had more of this in there. But I've been on so many podcasts, I'm satisfied that, on the "Appearances" on my site, brucedetorres dot com, I've elaborated plenty about these kinds of things.
However these ideas might help you or other readers, they sure helped me. They sure made my life worth living.
Wishing you a great night. -Bruce
